The grip is amazing but the material isn’t good as old edition I just did 30 miler race without any water crossing or muddy terrain and is already coming apart ?
Meghera –
Customer service was excellent. Have worn speed cross 5 ,8.5 wide. Was excited that new 6 came in wides. I should have gotten regular width. These are really too wide so when pulled tight enough for trail they really bunch up. I have tried several times on my trail but I don’t feel very safe or stable in them. I would suggest for only packed trails & if you tend to be on wide side in forefoot,go w/ regular width . That being said I do wear thin trail socks w/ no padding.

like the color combo the front fabric does crinkle a little bit but still overall good purchase

The stiff rubber in the tread are so big and knobby, they dig into your feet if you walk or run on any kind of rock. You can feel each knob in your foot sole if a knob hits a rock. The upper is minimal and flexible, so if the trail is slanted, the upper does not support your foot from sliding in that direction, unless you really tighten the laces to an uncomfortable level. They are described as “mixed terrain” but because of the above, they are really only good for flat terrain of mud or grass with no rocks. It is very disappointing because they feel very comfortable on carpet, cement (i.e. where you try them on), but on any real trail they are useless. Other than that, they have a cushioned sole, good arch support, and a medium to wide toe box.

I’ve been buying salomons for quite some time now and I stand by them 100%. This company is incredible. I ONLY wear Salomon trail runners as I have bad feet and these are so comfortable for me. You can not beat their warranty either. A 2 year warranty on sneakers is magnificent and I have used it before. They were prompt when dealing with the warranty and I got my new sneakers in no time. I will continue to wear these trail runners. They look great as well and I get lots of compliments on them.

I love everything about these shoes! I chose them as being least likely to attract grass seed heads due to their tightly woven uppers. Have had no seeds in them yet. They fit well as long as I wear light socks, and the grip is amazing. Warning: I did have a fall when I ignored the instructions to tuck in the laces and they got entangled with each other. I can’t comment on the durability as I’ve had them for only 4 weeks.

This is probably my 4th or 5th pair of speedcross trail shoes and I pretty much live in them. The grip is amazing and the fit super comfortable, plus I give them bonus points for being able to accomodate a supportive ankle brace.
Since I found my first pair of Salomon’s I’ve become a bit of an addict …. hiking boots, snow boots, trail shoes I have them all.

Took these on a trip to the redwoods and they were great. No slipping, lightweight and comfortable from the first trail. I normally wear size 7.5 in running shoes, did half-size down… perfect fit..

I normally wear Vario II trainers as there sole would last longer than the traditional SC versions. This is now my second pair of SC and I have found the sole lasts much longer (trail/off-road) and the main body lasts longer than the sole.
To quantify my usage, I run on average 2-3 times a week and anything from 6-15 miles per run.
Comfort, durability, design and practicality are all superb and I don’t run in anything else.

Been wearing Speedcross for past several years. (Switched when they quit making the Comp shoe). I like the 6, but did notice the new rounded toe and what seems like lighter weight fabric across the forefoot area. Hoping it’s as durable as the previous model. My biggest wish would be for at least one solid black or navy shoe color. I don’t mind flashy colors, but when traveling I like to take a more subdued color. The Speedcross holds up well on the rocky trails I run on a daily basis, but for people needing cushion, this is probably not the shoe for you.

I got them 3 months ago and now I can’t leave the house without them, comfortable, light and great traction, honestly if there were more colors I was ordering another pair!
Revhope –
These are what they say they are: great traction, lightweight, and I really like the ability to cinch in the laces. The lace storage could use a bit of redesign, but works ok–only have to do a lace re-tuck occasionally. I’m using these in addition to another waterproof (heavier) trail runner for dry/dry-ish days. Traction is very good–but the sole in the forefoot might be a little thin for some. You can feel through the shoe in some instances. Also, this is a very flexible shoe–which I like, but need to be aware of as it has less stiff and less supportive. Size is as expected and it can really go the distance. LOVE THEM!

I have been a Speedcross wearer for about 8 years and they remain my favorite shoe. The fit is always perfect for me, and I love how lightweight and flexible they are. They have excellent traction and grip on snow, slush, mud, dirt and grass. Love Speedcross!

I loved my Speedcross 5s and wore them til they died then purchased the same size 7.5 in the new version6. Much to my dismay, the sizes have changed and the v6 size 7.5 are much too large!
I’m now stuck with a pair of shoes that are unstable to hike in : (
Celeste –
From my daily walks to the hikes on the trails and hills of New England, this shoe has not failed me. It is so comfortable and supportive that I where them everywhere. Great shoe!
Northwesterner –
These are my new favorite shoes. They feel like an actual women’s size 10, fit well around the heel, and give me terrific lateral stability. They seem a bit narrower than some of Salomon’s shoes, but I don’t have a wide foot, so it suits me perfectly. I can’t wear my super thick hiking socks, but my normally thick socks work just fine. And the grippiness! Bliss! Love them!
Haima –
I’m on my 3th pair of the Speed Cross 6 and I absolutely love them! Ive struggled with shin splints, plantar fasciitis and corns for years and these seem to be the only trail runners that I can crush long distances and high summits with. I’ve used them for thru-hiking, while carrying a heavy pack and they’re great for that too. 10/10!

While I was playing in a recent softball tournament, I noticed that several of my teammates were wearing these really cool looking shoes. Salomon shoes, as it turned out.
So, after hearing nothing but amazing things, I decided to check them out for myself. I love the lime green and the overall look, but more than anything else, I love how incredibly comfortable they are! I wore them pretty much an entire weekend for the tournament the next weekend (because shipping was super fast). My feet were totally fine, my back didn’t hurt nearly as much as it had with other shoes, and I couldn’t be happier.
I love these shoes. Totally worth the hype and worth the cost.
Titanium 9 –
Ive purchased at least 10 pairs of Solomon’s in last 5yrs. I Love this shoe, recently had foot surgery & now have titanium hardware in my foot so I need a shoe with more traction than regular sneakers to help keep me on the road. Also need shoes a little wider to support the new hardware.
LAC1 –
I go through a pair every 6months. I wear there as a healthcare worker and they are the most comfortable light weight shoes I have ever worn. I also love the quick lace system.
Jkrak –
My go-to shoes for hiking – I hope they’re never discontinued. I have a lot of foot pain and these shoes have saved my feet on long hikes.
Anonymous –
These might be about the perfect shoe for me. They give excellent lateral support – my foot doesn’t feel like it’s sliding around when hiking on rough terrain. They’re also lightweight, and make me feel more nimble than most hiking shoes I’ve tried. Yes, these are trail runners, and not really hiking shoes, but that’s what I used them for, and I love them. Note: they do feel somewhat narrow, so if you have a wider foot, definitely order them in a wider size. And strangely for Salomon’s, they do not run big, but true to size.

I got these shoes for all-season trail running in WA State and love them especially on leafy and slippery trails.
Bobbie27 –
I bought those a few weeks ago and the minute I put them I knew I liked them. I love the heel drop, the cushioning that protects but gives you feedback of the rail too. Pretty too.
Lissy111 –
These shoes are so comfortable and super grippy! I loved going on hikes with my dogs with my first pair and bought a second pair after those needed to retire so now I’m taking up trail running 🙂
