Loved everything about the shoe except the width. I need extra width to accommodate bunions on both feet and the regular width was just not wide enough.

This shoe (in wide width) is very comfortable to accommodate my wide foot. The cushioning is very plush, especially the heel. If they weren’t so expensive I’d get another color. I’m a teacher so these are great for supporting my feet at work.

Bondi Lovers will like this new update. Soft step in, excellent arch support, 2mm taller than Bondi 8. The forefoot flair is a little more streamlined for those who thought was like a “clown shoe” but is still very stable. Heel counter holds the foot firmly so it’s a great lockdown. Some think there needs to be more width and runs narrow- was not true in my case, I was good with my HOKA 9.5, regular width. The shape, to me, is Mach 6 (ish) with the same new foam, only taller.
Recommended for easy runs, walking, healthcare, all day wear. I will be buying more colors as they release.

I like more the bondi 8 style, it is wider on the sole so it makes me feel more comfortable. It doesn’t have the “hook” tu pull up the shoe when you’re putting it on.

Hoka’s are great except for their extra large logo. They’re missing an entire market of people who would wear their shoes in a bit more professional/formal setting by bad branding.

Love the look of these and feel like they have great cushion, but very narrow on my pinky toe!

So far so good comfort walking long ways mostly on sidewalks – paved trails. Misread color: wish overall been light gray but actually white with gray . I think too much about get more dirty looking. But that’s on me.

The shoes feel and fit great, and I really appreciate that they offer wider widths, however compared to my Hoka Cliftons, there is a lot more shoe sole material that extends out from the shoe. They look massive on my feet, particularly being all black. I love Hoka shoes for their comfort and support, but this one is a style issue for me. Perhaps a two color combination would look less chunky than the black/black shoe.

These shoes were pretty comfortable although they don’t have enough arch support for me. I wasn’t fond of the super thick soles & the fact that they squeak with every step.

Love these! They are great support for my terrible feet. However, they are not wide enough for me. So very disappointed.
Deborah –
The shoe pushed on my big toe knuckle causing some discomfort (I have arthritis there). Also, the extra padding of the sole is too much for me. I like a lower profile shoe.

This shoes doesn’t have the finger loop at the back to help pull it up over your heel. I use that function and when it’s gone, it’s annoying. The cushion is harder than the Bondi 8. I have plantar fasciitis and miss the absorption the 8 gives.

The Bondi shoe yet! Great fit and great cushion!

Hoka Valor was my favorite for my skinny boney feet – so much cushion and support. When they discontinued I found the Bondi line to be the next best option – they are decent, but not as good as the Valor. I’ve worn the 7s & 8s and was hoping the 9s would be an improvement but they are not. The new Bondi 9’s rub my ankles and Achilles tendon – it seems like they moved everything up a little higher than in past designs. In the photos the fabric around the opening looks cushy and soft but it covers stiff edges that cut into my ankles when walking or running. I’m going to try keeping them to see if they break down at all. I’m not hopeful. Also – as many others have said, the color options need to be improved!

I was recommended this shoe for knee issues. I’m a true size 8 and the fit on this shoe was very snug. The 8.5 was too long. Then decided to try the 8.5 wide but found the tongue of this shoe to be too long and bothersome. Disappointed that these didn’t work for me.

the platform was so high, it felt uncomfortable.

I love these Bondi 9s. I was very happy to see they came in WW so I ordered a 9.5 WW and a 10 W, as I wore a 10 W in the Bondi 8s. The 9.5 WW fit perfectly, right out of the box. I don’t like the colors they come in for a WW but I ordered the lilac. I’ve gotten compliments on the color from women so I guess I should just enjoy having like Easter Egg shoes. Oh, I tried my Upstep insoles in them but they are more comfortable with the insoles they came with. I have worn them for walks and also when I ride my stand-up bicycle, an ElliptiGO 11R.

I love hoka for my planter fasciitis. They help a lot.

I hike 5 miles everyday. I hike up and down sandy hills. These shoes are excellent as hiking shoes. Very comfortable. Note: I have big toe arthritis, and these shoes reduce pain. Yay!

Felt like I was going to trip while walking in them

I LOVE the Bondi 8 and am so sad they are not making it anymore. I feel the Bondi 9 is a totally different shoe; the toe box is not as wide and the shoe somehow feels ‘shorter’ in length, even though I have the same size I normally wear. I also don’t care for the Bondi 9 color options but might have overlooked that had the shoe fit. I have no idea why they are discontinuing the Bondi 8, as it was the perfect shoe. This shoe (Bondi 9) has more cushioning than the Gaviota (which I am considering since the Gaviota toe box is wide with lots of space) but the rest of the Bondi 9 is not a fit for me. Also when you put your foot into the shoe, it doesn’t slide in the same; something about the fabric or texture of the Bondi insole is different (for me). Good luck shopping! Here’s to our health, fitness, and happiness!

Initially I thought the Bondi 9 was perfection. I had a new pair of Bondi 7’s on when they arrived and it was like a “new and improved” version. Everything I loved about the Bondi 7 only even more cushioning and less of the large foot print of the Bondi 8. Two weeks into wearing them, I would wake up with my lower back and hips killing me. I do daily yoga and strength training so this made little sense. I went on to Hoka’s website and noticed others talk about how they make you walk on the outer edge of the shoe. I don’t know why the would change this shoe to the degree that it effects your gait, but it did mine and that was a huge disappointment. I had to send them back of course. I’ve worn every version of Bondi. Again, a horrible, unnecessary change.

I need extra wide shoes to accommodate AFOs, and I have been watching out for some that aren’t white, grey, or black that most x-wide shoes are restricted to. These are a great purple color with orange pops. They seem to run a half size smaller than my other Hokas (Bondi 8), I originally ordered the same size as my Bondi 8’s but then had to exchange for a half size bigger. The sole isn’t as voluminous as the Bondi 8’s either but still feel super stable.

Disappointed! I love my Bondi 8’s but these have a much more narrow toe box regardless of the width or going up a size. I’m going to try the Gaviota 5s as I’ve read they have a wider toe box.

Have worn Hokas for years– after having both hips replaced– Hokas have been the BEST for comfort/support.
But the Bondi 9s have a very narrow toe box– which causes bunions– and just overall too tight. Truly hurt my feet. Even after going up a 1/2 size.
