Free People is often over sized, so the large is a better fit than my usual XL. However, the shoulders and upper arms are HUGE, even considering dolman sleeves. I notice that in the FP pictures, the model crosses her arms and you can’t see those puffy shoulders. I may try to take them in, because the padded-shoulder-line-backer look is not attractive. However, the jacket is very comfortable otherwise and surprisingly light and warm.

I love this jacket. It’s soft, cozy, and versatile! I am a size small all around and ordered a small. I like that it is a bit oversized and slouchy so I can layer. If I sized down, it would have been oversized as well but I think the sleeves would’ve been a bit short. Yes it is boxy right out of the box, but wearing it helps the fabric soften and settle.
