Full disclosure: I have difficult feet. That being said, I’ve found walking sandals over the years that met my needs. My favorite of all time was the now discontinued Teva Fi 2, which I’ve been desperate to replace since I bought my last pair in 2012. The newer Terra Fi is a pale imitation. I’d been wearing Chaco flip flops for years for support and comfort, but their popular hiking sandals aren’t the best fit for me. I need the toe loop to keep them snug, but they tighten as I walk, and quickly “strangle” my big toe, so I can’t wear them for more than a mile or so. When I saw this new “Mega” style, it really caught my eye, and the reviews I read said it ran on the narrow side (a plus for me), so I decided to try them. First of all, they’re really pretty out of the box (for a hiking sandal). They adjust fairly easily (much more so than the the Z/2) and while they’re not a perfect fit (I have to size a full size down to be able to wear Chacos as even their regular size runs very wide), the arch hits my foot at the right place. I still have some issues with the straps tightening as a I walk, but all in all, this is by far the best sandal I’ve found since the Teva Terra Fi 2. And I love the way they look. So if you like Chacos, you should like these. My dream is for Chaco to make a flip with the Z/2 sole for narrow feet. Maybe some day!

I seem to fall just in between sizes 8 and 9. More comfortable foot bed than some models and no toe loop, which makes it easier to adjust. But the heel strap is a little too loose and cannot be adjusted. Wish a wider footbed were available.

This is my first pair of Chacos. I’d never considered a sandal like this or any of the other sandals of this type b/c of my narrow foot. After reading the reviews & checking out how to adjust these sandals, I determined that I should give them a try, at least. The adjusting is very easy, only 3 steps, & after the first time adjustment, I haven’t had to adjust them again. The reviews stated that the wide straps were more comfortable than the narrow straps, so the Mega Z Cloud in Blazer Navy seemed like the best choice for me. So far, I find that I like them very much. I wear a 6AA, so the issue of the sandals looking too large did not bother me. With Zappo’s easy return policy, I would advise anyone on the fence about ordering these sandals to just go ahead & try them. What have you got to lose? Also, for anyone wanting an adjustment on the heel strap, the Chaco website can make this (or any other) strap adjustments for a price.

Love these sandals! I have narrow feet and love the way you can adjust the straps to fit. The straps are wider and much softer than the other styles. I feel like they are more secure on my feet. I originally ordered the ZX/1 and the straps bothered my right foot where I have a bunion. So far the mega cloud is the one that works for me!

Think the wider width of the strap is what makes the outer part of my foot hurt. Wish they came in a wide.

I bought these for a mission trip and wore them for 10 days straight out of the box. These are the cutest, most supportive, yet comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned. My only complaint is I can’t wear them when it’s cold!
Cindy –
I’ve always loved chacos and these don’t disappoint. If you’re a half size like me I always size down.

I have always been a huge fan of Chacos but have never worn any this comfortable. They fit nice and snug and cradle my feet perfectly. The material on the straps is much softer than usual and keep my feet secure. Would 10/10 recommend.

When I 1st put them on, the arch immediately rose my foot to attention. Lol. I love the one hand tighten & release brass buckle strap. No more bothersome with adjusting straps & snapping buckles. The sandal accommodates all foot widths & the foot bed is very comfy.
The soles are truly super grip. If you’re going down marble stairs, take your time. They accommodate hiking, rough terrain, walking trails & stew very comfortable indoors or outdoors. The color is pretty too.

I bought the Chaco ZX/2 years ago and wore them while on vacation in Italy. Brought them out again in preparation for an upcoming trip but the bunion I have developed since then made the R sandal unbearably painful due to strangulation of my big toe. Tried this pair on at REI but they didn’t have my size (5); I’ve noticed I take a smaller size in Chacos than other shoes. Checked Zappos to find they were less expensive and only had one pair left in 5 –> bought it right there in the parking lot. Fantastic customer service as usual when I called a few days after receiving them to request a price adjustment.
I had some concerns at first that the arch did not hit in the right place. However, similar to the user who answered the arch fit question above, after a day or so of wearing the fit felt right. The cloud sole/cushioning makes this pair much more flexible and easy to walk in compared to my old Chacos, and the single strap is definitely more comfortable too. No bunion-induced pain in this pair, thankfully!

No exaggeration I wear a size 8 in every shoe I own, even shoes where reviews say size up/down I order my normal 8 and they always fit. These are the only shoes I can think of that I actually take a size down. I ordered the 8 but after wearing around the house for a couple of days I felt there was too much extra room at the end of my toes. Decided to try the 7 expecting them to be too small but no, they fit great. I really like the wide strap, it makes these sandals feel very stable and as another reviewer said the colors are subtle and the navy sole looks black. The only slight drawback is the strap is significantly shorter on the 7 that the 8 so the buckle is now on top of my foot rather than the side. It doesn’t really bother me but it’s something I noticed so figured it was worth mentioning.

Soft straps are comfy. easier to adjust these vs the toe strap chacos but still hard to find the sweet spot. I’m looking forward to wearing them on vacation in Colorado!

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the mega z clouds and already have one pair! I bought the red/navy when they were on sale so that I would have options, but didn’t realize that although the pic looks black for the bottom, they are navy which I wasn’t a big fan of. I returned them and will be ordering a different color! They will be full price, but it is WELL worth it for me. I am one who will take off shoes the second I walk in my home, because I want my feet to “breathe”. However, I went the entire day with them on not even thinking about it, because they are THAT comfortable. If you are a first time Chaco user with moderate to high arches, and like the look of wider straps, go with the Mega Z Cloud for sure! FYI, I’m a size 10.5 and the 10 fit excellent.

Love, love, love these sandals. The adjustable straps made it easy to get a comfortable fit. Excellent arch support. Make sure to check the size guide before purchase. I will be purchasing more of these.

Wore these out of the box for 10 straight days traveling to Kenya. They are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. The gold buckle is my favorite part (looks metal but it’s plastic).

Really liked how it fit. But I found the sole too rough, so I have to return them.

I can’t really speak to the comfort of these shoes because I couldn’t even get my foot into it! The cross strap that is supposed to go over the top of the foot was WAY too small and I couldn’t get these on. I kept thinking i was doing something wrong, but I couldn’t figure it out. Back these go. They do look like they’d be comfortable though.

These are very comfortable sandals. I struggle with foot pain due to Morton’s Neuroma. I used to live in flip flops and now cannot wear them. These are a perfect summer sandal and do not make my foot pain worse, unlike other sandals and flip flops. I can wear these all day and have to issues with pain. They’re also pretty cute too. I highly recommend.

I have several pairs of Chacos and I think these are the most comfortable by far. The footbed is less pebbled/rough than the other styles and I LOVE the wide straps.
Aimee –
This is my 2nd pair of Chacos, the Mega Z Cloud have a softer foot bed. Other than that they feel like my old Chacos, I’ve hiked, vacationed and worn these in water when needed. Love these sandals. The first pair lasted eeek 15 years. The sole finally started to pull apart. But those sandals still look like they are only a couple years old. These shoes last.
Jamie –
I wear a size 38N (filled in foot) in Birkenstock and tried both a 7 and 8 in these. Ultimately I went with the 7 and the fit is perfect! Very easy to adjust for a personalized fit.

I’m a big fan of this style!
I got these in a 9, even though I usually wear a 9.5-10. I have an older pair of Chacos, so I knew a 9 would work out. My older pair has a loop around the big toe, which I don’t find super comfortable. I really like the wide straps on these as well as the lack of toe loop. I put these on and with minimal adjustment, we’re ready to roll!

This is my 3rd pair of Chaco Mega Z Cloud sandals. I normally wear 8 ½ in a sandal but find that the 8 works best for me in this style. The wider straps hold my feet securely and allow excellent adjustability for my narrow heeled, wider forefoot, high volume feet. The only down side for me is that they do not dry quickly when they they get a dunking in a puddle or lake, hence the multiple pairs.

I’m going on a rafting trip and needed a sandal. After trying Tevas and another type of Chaco I settled on these – once I put them on and adjusted the straps I didn’t want to take them off – so comfortable right out of the box, the wide straps are soft and feel secure, footbed is cushiony with good support. Great for walking the dogs, working in the yard, and soon, for floating down the Salmon river and going on some short hikes! I like Tevas and they were comfortable too, but these felt worth the extra $$ for the extra comfort, and I expect to wear the heck out of them. I also prefer these to the velcro straps on the Tevas, these are quick to slip on and off with slight adjustment of buckle with one hand, like others have mentioned. I hope the straps will hold up and keep their nice colors over time and exposure to water and sun – we shall see. I normally wear an 8.5 and the 8 fits well.

I had an old pair of chacos that wrapped around the toe, was looking for something without that with good support — these fit the bill.
The arch support is great, and I like the wider straps. They were easy to adjust and were really comfortable. The straps are soft and feel great on the feet. I bought them for trip to Hawaii and they were great to wear on the beach as well as other places, walking around. I bought the Crust Porcelain and the pattern is fun and cute. I normally wear an 8.5 but a friend suggested buying Size 8 and they fit great, so maybe size down if you’re normally a half size up.
