Fit was good, but the shoes came up too high on my ankles.

This shoe was too wide for my foot. Otherwise it was comfortable.

Wow – I’m impressed with this model of Asics! I have wide feet & my toes spread out. Until now, I have never been able to wear a pair of Asics comfortably because they were rather tight. These are perfect for my wide feet/toes with lots of cushioning too.

The Kayano 31’s are an improvement over the 30’s. The style is more sleek and the length is perfect. But unfortunately for me ASICS has completely redesigned these shoes since the 30 version and I can’t wear them anymore. They’re very cushioned and supportive. The arch is perfect but they’re just way too wide for me and I almost always wear a medium width in ASICS. Even with an orthotic and thick socks the width could fit 1.5 of my feet in each shoe. I’ll try the narrows but if those don’t work I’ll be walking and running in Brooks Adrenalines and Ghosts.

I ordered an ASICS shoe in 8.5 and received an OQ shoe in a different size.

The shoes provided overall comfort in the toe box and the heel. I have space for thick cotton socks. The shoes are lightweight. I have two pairs of Gel-Kayano 25. I have walked the airports, warehouse stores, and parks without any discomfort to my back or feet.

I have a lot of foot problems, including plantar fasciitis, very high arches and overpronation. These are the most comfortable sneakers I have ever worn. They are super well-cushioned and so far, seem effective at reducing my overpronation. I walk 3-4 miles every day, and these sneakers have significantly reduced my foot pain. I love them!

Love the fit! Cushioned but not heavy. Love the fabric, love these shoes!

So far, so good
Ashley –
The shoe fit’s to size and the width is as described but what I did not expect was my foot being sore after just 4 hours of wear. I am hoping that with time my foot will better acclimate but I have never had a pair of sneakers cause my foot pain. Would I repurchase? Not for the price and the fact that I may never “break them in.”

I don’t like the big thick sole

i have been ordering this sneaker for years and love the support but now they added extra fabric along the top and the pull up loop and the extra fabric bothers my ankles and the loop makes it that ankle socks do not stay up. I wish they would leave a fantastic shoe alone and now add these unnecesary things. I will order again if they go back to a basic style. Otherwise, Asics has lost me as a long time customer. I hope they rethink this new design.

I have very bad plantar fasciitis and these worked well for me. I do put my orthotics in them too.
Wendy –
Unfortunately, ASICS changed my go to sneakers to a point where they’re no longer comfortable. The cuff around the ankle is thicker and rougher and irritates my ankles. Why can’t any sneaker company leave well enough alone? This makes me sad. After years of wearing ASICS, I have to find another brand.

Typically I’m an 8-1/2, but a 9-1/2 in athletic shoes. My new ASICS are a perfect fit for my somewhat narrow feet and achy arthritic toes…I think I literally sighed when I put them on!

ASICS Gel-Kayano 31 fit my narrow foot perfectly! I have purchased many different brands over the years and these are The Best. I’ll continue to buy ASICS.
Feen –
I bought these just for the gym. I mostly do Zumba which has a lot of side-to-side movement. I’ve worn these to one class so far and they were great! No breaking in period, no blisters or rubbing. Good, comfy support and I’d recommend them.

I am trying to replace my Gel Kayano 27. Have always worn size 9.5 medium and Gel Kayano for years! These Gel Kayano 31 are HUGE! The toe box is VERY WIDE and the back of the sneaker has an extra liner and high pull strap that I can only imagine would rub your heel and style that looks just like a Hoka. Sadly, returning them and will try to find another manufacturer with similar style and fit of the “old” Gel Kayano. Wish Asics would leave a good sneaker alone.

The shoes are so comfortable, but I had to go up 1/2 a size for the length. Unfortunately the shoe was too wide and my foot didn’t stay in place when I went up in size.
Diane –
Just as good as the Kayano 30s. I was worried they would not have good arch support, but they do. Super comfy and the toe box is wide enough for my hammer toe. Good for my arthritic feet with plantar fasciitis.
YellowRose –
My foot is a size 9 wide and is kind of beefy. I tried this shoe in a 9.5 wide; it seems like most of the athletic shoes I looked at recommended buying a half size bigger than my usual size, so I did. It felt slightly too long — but perhaps it is true to size (9.5) and I didn’t need to size up. I like the way the shoe feels and looks, but since it was just slightly too long, I decided to go with another shoe.
Mary –
I gave this a five star rating because I loved the shoe but it was too wide for my feet. I dearly wish Zappos would make size 13s in a narrow width. There really are tall women with narrow feet!
Karen –
The fit was good, but the size of the rubber surround, especially around the heel was too large. The extra surround of rubber/foam felt awkward, like it would get in the way because I was very aware of it and normally that is not something that draws my attention. If there is another model of the Kayano, I will try them, but these went right back despite the the cool pink and black colorways.

I purchased these for my daughter. We loved the shoe, but the toe box was too wide for her.

Great shoe
